In my ongoing quest to find more freely available useful tooks and utilities which can be easily run from a USB flash drive, I have found the following bits:
- EssentialPIM - A personal information manager with installable vs portable, free vs. pro versions available.
- TreePad Lite - A hybrid personal information manager, organizer, database and word processor. The Lite version is freely available.
- CPU-Z and PC Wizard - a pair of great diagnostic utilities.
- WinAudit - utility for auditing your system and gathering information on hardware, software, configuration, etc.
- AIDA32 - Another utility for system information, diagnostics and benchmarking.
- WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics; this gathers information on disk usage.
- CCleaner Portable - A portable version of the CCleaner utility for cleaning up the registry, IE cache, etc.
- Portable Spybot S & D - How to run Spybot S&D, a popular remover of spyware, from a USB drive.
- TrueCrypt - This free open-source encryption utility has a traveller mode so it can be run from a USB stick.
- Pegtop PStart - utility for launching applications.
Some more lists of portable applications can be found here:
